The typical reptile vivarium will reach 48inches in width and 18 inches in depth. Since a leopard tortoise can be 18inches in the carapace that means this reptile vivarium would not work.

Tortoise vivariums will be wood with glass doors. The glass doors allow for easy access for feeding and cleaning. You do not want to have a lot of humidity inside the enclosure so wood will also help with this.

If you are not finding the vivarium product you wish to have, there are other options. The reptile garden or tortoise garden is meant to be an open air enclosure. This enclosure allows your tortoise the space they need without restricting them. The garden is made of durable plastic that is also weather proof. It has to be assembled when you first buy it, but you can create the desired size, height, and shape with it. Luckily with the reptile garden you are also able to attach a roof when needed. There are mesh covers that will allow for ventilation, but keep your tortoise inside. Tortoise gardens are £70-£100 depending on the size and manufacturer.

Some gardens are shaped differently and made of wood. For example the Royce Reptile Table is a garden with an open air area as well as a little cave for them to sleep in. This table is 48 inches in width by 23 inches depth. The height is 10 inches, which keeps your tortoise from climbing out. The table is very easy to clean like the reptile garden. This choice may fit your house decor a little more than other options on the market. It is certainly a comfortable and hygienic tortoise housing to keep your pet healthy.
